Before working with Rachel, my personal style was somewhat lacking since transitioning to retirement. Most of my clothing was office appropriate, but only a few pieces could be used for more casual day to day wear. I have a lot of active wear, but was lacking in pieces more appropriate for dinners/lunches out. I found it hard to know what pieces to invest in as I've wasted money in the past, buying pieces that end up sitting in my closet with the tags on, only to get donated without ever wearing them. Rachel will help you to discover how you want to present yourself, what styles and colours suit you so that you'll be confident in knowing that what you buy will serve you well.
She encouraged me to try on pieces as they often look much different than on the hanger - the ones you think will work, sometimes don't, and the opposite is sometimes true as well. And to try on colours outside of my comfort zone. If you are feeling like you need some help - this is a great investment. I now have a few investment pieces that will last and work with trendier styles, while still retaining their more timeless look. Stop avoiding buying new things, or buying the wrong items - as Rachel will help you to discover how you want to present yourself, what styles and colours suit you so that you'll be confident in knowing that what you buy will serve you well. Let her do the legwork for you - you won't be disappointed!

I felt like I was in a rut when it came to clothes. I knew I needed to add some new things to my wardrobe because of my job but didn’t really know where to begin. Pieces can be so expensive so I felt pressured to pick everything with so much care that I just straight up avoided it. I wasn’t planning on what I could wear things with - I didn’t think about versatility, I just had the one piece or outfit in mind. I would feel guilty spending money on a nice pair of pants or a nice jacket not thinking about the value in terms of wear. Working with Rachel exceeded my expectations! She made subtle suggestions throughout the shopping experience - the refectory mix between respectful yet bold. She was extremely well prepared and attentive to my likes and dislikes throughout our time together.
I was surprised at how well she picked up on my preferences while still encouraging me to try options I would normally shut down before trying them on. Rachel showed me that subtle patterns can still be styled in many different ways, and that where a piece cuts you makes the world of difference. Following our service I definitely feel more confident but I feel like most importantly I feel like my style is uniquely me! I don’t have to have all the same pieces of a capsule wardrobe as the next person and I can add different features (jewelry) to make things more personal. I see value in spending money on classic clothes that are high quality and that I can wear with many things. I’ve also learned to be patient! Building a wardrobe takes time. Rachel was extremely well prepared, thoughtful and attentive. She incorporates your personal style into the shopping experience. For me, she helped me see how things can be styled and just how versatile certain pieces can be. I’m very happy and would definitely recommend Rachel’s services.

Having a personal stylist is so valuable. I felt good about style but also felt it was a little boring. I don’t shop for clothes often, but when I do I gravitate to what I already know - I will buy the same piece of clothing in multiple colours just so I don’t have to spend time looking for and trying on new clothes.
Rachel is so creative when it comes to clothes/styling and she helped me find the clothes/styled them in ways I’ve always wanted to wear but never felt the courage to. I was so surprised by how she knows what will look good on me by just looking at the clothes on the rack! Rachel knows what she’s doing, she is patient and really listens to what you are looking for when it comes to your appearance, while also making you comfortable enough to say “I don’t actually like this” if you try on something you don’t love, which is so appreciated! She really wants the best for you, which is for you to feel confident in your own skin and the clothes you wear.
After working together, I’m no longer afraid to try new styles or things I may not normally pick out for myself. I’ve also learned how to buy pieces that are trendy but also classic at the same time so that you can wear them for years to come, by styling them differently. I’m so excited to confidently wear all my new pieces, mix and match them together, and with clothes I already own.

I was feeling good about my style just needed a little help finding the right pieces to add to my wardrobe during pregnancy.
Rachel was able to easily find pieces that I wouldn't have on my own, and knew where to go. We went to stores I don't usually shop in, and I learned that sometimes you have to step away from your comfort stores for certain situations to find things that fit with your current budget and goals.
Shopping with Rachel put me at ease. She knew what would look good on me and loved her suggestions. I definitely would recommend her services.
I honestly don't know when I'll be shopping on my own next, but I will definitely be lonely…
I might need to call Rachel again again to shop for my postpartum body, and would be very interested in having her do some thrifting for me!

After working with Rachel to get ready for this trip, every single piece could be pieced with something else that I packed. The Style Passport she put together made planning and packing so much easier, and I referred back to it consistently throughout my trip. I had various outfits in my head at the start of each day from what Rachel carefully prepared and walked me through.
She was purposeful in her pieces and showed me how I can transition the same outfit from day to night with either accessories/adding/taking off/changing an item of clothing. I was a bit worried about the change in seasons while travelling to a different climate, but she picked pieces that work in almost any season and showed me how they can work to bundle up or just to layer light on a hot day. She took into account the styles in the cities that we were going to and incorporated accessories that fit. It was actually amazing!!!
Rachel’s Trip Prep service is absolutely something I would consider repeating for a future trip. Especially for a long trip like the one we had, I did the entire 2-week trip with 1 carry on and still had a different outfit every day.

Rachel has a Fine Arts degree from McMaster University and wrote her thesis on Color Affect Theory (an exploration of the way that colors make us feel) and her function as an artist plays a huge part in her approach to style. Being a wife and mother to her sweet little girl has transformed her perspective on what it means to be a woman in transition, and the part that style plays in the journey back to yourself.
