clothing maintenance is so important to take care of the pieces you already own so that you investment doesn’t go to waste (this includes how your off-season items are stored!)

+ de-pilling
+ lint-rolling
+ dry-cleaning

before properly storing your pieces

unpack your current season pieces

if you didn’t do so when packing everything up, it’s time to de-pill, lint-roll + dry-clean any items that need it

tip: this is also a great time to steam any pieces that are looking crumpled after being stored so that all your cloths are ready to be worn + you’re more likely to reach for them!

remember: if it no longer fits your body, your style, or your life, it’s gotta go!

donate, sell + tailor

we are NOT driving around with a bag of donations in our trunk for the next 6 months – you don’t need a single other thing contributing to your mental load, so let’s get it right off the to-do list:

+ drop off items for donation
+ get items up for sale
+ make an appointment with your tailor for pieces that need mending/alterations

tip: if more than two weeks have passed + you still have a pile of items to be mended/tailored, DONATE THEM! you don’t love these pieces enough to prioritize fixing them + you owe it to yourself to eliminate the physical/mental clutter

and if you’re still feeling overwhelmed by the state of your closet, book a wardrobe edit + let me help!
